Pediatric care options at Ascend Medical

Pediatrics: At Home, 24/7
We Champion the Well-being of Your Child
You can read all of the parenting books and websites in the world, but nothing can prepare you
for those nights with a sick child. You’re worried about the sound of their cough, and as you’re
holding them there, upright in the misty bathroom, what you want most in the world is to know
that your child will be OK.
In a moment like this, the last thing you want to do is wait for the doctor’s office to open in the
morning. You want to talk to a doctor now, but getting everyone up and going to the emergency
room seems too great of a challenge.
Although your doctor might not be open, we are.
At Ascend Medical, we provide a complete offering of integrated pediatric services – from
newborn care to regular check-ups to medical assistance at a moment’s notice – 24/7 and right at
your child’s bedside. It’s our goal to provide your family with high-quality healthcare services that
center around your child’s well-being.
Pediatric Care Options
Home Visits
Home visits provide you and your child timely, in-person access to professional medical services.
We come to your home for both well-child and sick visits. Well visits include all the recommended
screenings and assessments with a focus on prevention, growth tracking and development to
identify any areas of concern. Because in-home, well-child visits require in-person evaluation,
they are not conducted via telehealth sessions.
Our in-home well-visit exams can include:
- Hearing and vision screening
- Routine vaccinations
- Preventive care
- Sports physicals
- Help with school health forms
We can also evaluate your child in your home for minor issues and illnesses such as:
- Colds and flus
- Allergies and asthma
- ADHD
- Rashes and other skin issues
Telehealth
Many pediatric illnesses can also be diagnosed and treated quickly and easily through virtual
visits (telehealth). Most minor ailments and potentially contagious conditions are evaluated
through this medium because it provides immediate, personal medical attention without the risk
of exposing others. The following conditions are among those most typically evaluated via
telehealth:
- Pink Eye
- Seasonal Allergies
- Rashes, Skin Infections
- Insect Bites
- Cold Symptoms
- Fever
- Urinary Tract Infections
- Swimmer’s Ear
- Strep Throat
- Diarrhea
- Constipation
- Vomiting
- Flu Symptoms
Mobile Diagnostics
For in-person pediatric appointments, any necessary diagnostic testing will be performed at the
time of the visit. If your child is being seen for a telehealth visit and requires further testing, our
mobile team can come to your home to perform high-quality, comprehensive diagnostic tests.
Our mobile diagnostic unit visits are free to members throughout the year and have no additional
travel fees.
Want to Know More? Schedule a Meet and Greet – It’s On Us
We get it. You want to make sure this is the right fit for you and your family. That’s why we offer a
virtual 30-minute one-on-one Meet and Greet to get to know us better. Ask us anything, and
include the kids, if you like. No cost – and no strings.
Service Type
We offer three types of services to meet your child’s needs in your own home.
These are:
- Home Visits – Well and Sick Child Visits: best for when your child needs a regular well
child exam, sports physical, or if you believe your child’s ailment should be seen in
person. - Telehealth – Sick child visits for common, minor ailments, especially if you believe your
child may be contagious. - Mobile Units – We can deploy these if your child needs medical tests we can’t perform via
home visit or telehealth alone.
Where We Serve
We currently provide home visits in Atlanta, GA and Austin, TX (and surrounding neighborhoods) with
more locations to be added soon.
Who We Treat
Our practitioners treat newborns up to age 21.
We accept payment via insurance, self-pay and health savings accounts (HSA).
So whether your child is already feeling their best, or if they need a visit from one of our medical
professionals to be on their way back to health, you can count on us to be there, where and
when it counts.
