Pediatrics: in-network virtual & in-home appointments
We champion the well-being of your child
You can read all of the parenting books and websites in the world, but nothing can prepare you
for those 'what if' thoughts racing through your mind when your child is sick. You're worried about the sound of their cough, the rash, the fever... whatever it might be. what you want most in the world is to know
that your child will be OK.
In a moment like this, the last thing you want to do is call your pediatrician only for to hear that they are fully booked and can't fit your child in for an appointment, or pack up your sick child and drive to an unfamiliar urgent care and sit in a germ-filled waiting room.
At Ascend Medical, our pediatric specialists and family medicine providers have you covered. With same day appointment availability, you can hop on a quick telemedicine appointment and speak to a provider ASAP. Plus, if the provider determines your child needs in-person attention for things like diagnostic testing, a closer in-person look at the issue, or lab work- our team will come to your home for a house call. It's our goal to provide your family with high-quality healthcare services that
center around your child's well-being.
Our pediatric specialists and family medicine providers treat patients starting at age 5 and have found that children are much more comfortable receiving medical care in their own home, surrounded by their toys, family, etc. An oasis compared to an urgent care or pediatricians office with germs, screaming and crying. This allows the child to feel more relaxed and receptive to communicating with the provider about how they are feeling by eliminating the sense of fear and unknown that often comes with being at a foreign-feeling medical office.
Pediatric Care Options
Home Visits
Home visits provide you and your child timely, in-person access to professional medical services.
We come to your home for both well-child and sick visits. Well visits include all the recommended
screenings and assessments with a focus on prevention, growth tracking and development to
identify any areas of concern. Because in-home, well-child visits require in-person evaluation,
they are not conducted via telehealth sessions.
Our in-home well-visit exams can include:
- Hearing and vision screening
- Routine vaccinations
- Preventive care
- Sports physicals
- Help with school health forms
We can also evaluate your child in your home for minor issues and illnesses such as:
- Colds and flus
- Allergies and asthma
- Rashes and other skin issues
- And more
Telehealth
Many pediatric illnesses can also be diagnosed and treated quickly and easily through virtual
visits (telehealth). Most minor ailments and potentially contagious conditions are evaluated
through this medium because it provides immediate, personal medical attention without the risk
of exposing others. The following conditions are among those most typically evaluated via
telehealth:
- Pink Eye
- Seasonal Allergies
- Rashes, Skin Infections
- Insect Bites
- Cold Symptoms
- Fever
- Urinary Tract Infections
- Swimmer's Ear
- Strep Throat
- Diarrhea
- Constipation
- Vomiting
- Flu Symptoms
Mobile Diagnostics
For in-person pediatric appointments, any necessary diagnostic testing will be performed at the
time of the visit. If your child is being seen for a telehealth visit and requires further testing, our
mobile team can come to your home to perform high-quality, comprehensive diagnostic tests.
